Finding the right color combination is one of the most important aspects of design. This color palette generator creates harmonious five-color palettes with a single click. Lock the colors you love and keep generating until every color is perfect. You can also create mathematically harmonious color schemes from any base color.
Click "Generate Palette" or press the spacebar to create a new random five-color palette. Each color is displayed with its HEX value. Click any color to copy its HEX code to your clipboard. Click the lock icon to keep a color while regenerating the rest. For more structured palettes, pick a base color and choose from complementary, analogous, triadic, or split-complementary schemes.
Use the 60-30-10 rule: 60% of your design should use a dominant color, 30% a secondary color, and 10% an accent color. Start with one or two colors you know you want, lock them, and generate palettes around them. When designing for the web, always verify that your text colors have sufficient contrast against background colors for accessibility compliance.
